WHAT IS A ROTARY FOUNDATION SUSTAINING MEMBER?

A Rotary Foundation Sustaining Member is an individual who personally contributes a minimum of $100 each Rotary year to the Annual Fund or Polio Plus Fund.  These contributions fund sustainable programs focused on six key areas:  Promoting peace, Fighting disease, Providing clean water, Saving mothers and children, Supporting education and Growing local communities.

Many San Ramon Rotarians choose to contribute annually at the double sustainer level of $200, as super sustainers at $500, and as Paul Harris Society members at $1,000.  Whatever level you choose, your gifts don’t just change lives; they literally save lives.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE ROTARY FOUNDATION AND ITS WORK.

Greeter Protocol

When you are assigned the duty of being our greeter, you should remember the following:

1. You should be at the meeting by 11:45 AM in order to greet everyone as they come to the meeting.

2. You should bring a "Greeter's Gift" for the raffle. The gift should be approximately $20.00 in value.

3. You will be leading the giving the inspiration of the day, leading the salute to the flag, and introducing the visiting Rotarians. It is a good idea to watch the visiting Rotarians sign in, so that you can ask them about any complicated names or classifications.

4. If you cannot attend, it is your responsibility to find a replacement.

Meeting Notes for December 8, 2016

By: Hermann Welm

This week’s meeting was held at the San Ramon Senior Center on Alcosta Blvd, with our senior citizen guests, in celebration of Christmas.

President Kathy Gailey, “The African Queen,” called the meeting to order, reminding us that the R.I. President is John F. Germ and his theme for the year is “Rotary Serving Humanity.”

Our Greeter, John Milich, led us in the Salute to the Flag.  John presented his Thought for the Day, by Michael Pritchard, “You don’t stop laughing because you grow old.  You grow old because you stop laughing.”   PP Don Jones then led the hundred and thirty, or so, attendees in the singing of “God Bless America.”

Visiting Rotarians: None.

Other Visitors:  Possibly one hundred senior citizens from San Ramon and Dublin who regularly attend events at the San Ramon Senior Center.

Announcements:

Coleen Vitalis, Director of the San Ramon Community Chorus, announced that there will be a free concert at the Community Center (on Alcosta), at 3:00 pm, December 11th

Kathy also reminded all that we will be “Dark” on both December 22 and 29.

The Christmas Party will he held on December 10th at the Tucker’s home, starting at 6:00 pm.
