Greeter Protocol

When you are assigned the duty of being our greeter, you should remember the following:

1. You should be at the meeting by 11:45 AM in order to greet everyone as they come to the meeting.

2. You should bring a "Greeter's Gift" for the raffle. The gift should be approximately $20.00 in value.

3. You will be leading the giving the inspiration of the day, leading the salute to the flag, and introducing the visiting Rotarians. It is a good idea to watch the visiting Rotarians sign in, so that you can ask them about any complicated names or classifications.

4. If you cannot attend, it is your responsibility to find a replacement.

Meeting Notes for June 15, 2017
 By: Tom Port

Call to Order: The “African Queen” performed her swan song before a rather small
group of attendees. “R. I president is John F. Germ and his theme is:
                           ‘Rotary Serving Humanity’”.

Greeter: Karen McNamara filled in for Mike Gunning and led the flag salute.
Congregants were ably led in “God Bless America”.

Thought for The Day:  “Whatever you are be a good one!”
Announcements:
Convention:

Colette Lay reported on the Atlanta Convention. $350 million was raised toward completion of the goal of eradicating polio. It is estimated to require three year and about 1.5 billion to get the job done.

Recognitions: It was fairly slim pickings this late in the season, but Chris Gallagher’s
big truck was the subject, once again, of much discussion.
But alas, he had already been tapped out.
Program: Auction Assembly Meeting. “Its in September this year!)

Spreadsheets were passed out and each of the commitments from last year were reviewed toward ensuring we get at least the same this year.

Each person was tasked with coming up with at least 3 new ideas which they were to put on the flipchart and on their personal notes (sheets of per were passed out)

A lead person from each team, Marvin, Don, Mark, Karen and Colette, each offered their team’s ideas, and the spreadsheet was adjusted accordingly.

By all signs this year’s auction will once again be a great success.

Also,  Kathy said the Rotary in Cabo San Lucas would like to offer as an auction item a seven night trip with a dinner, golf and fishing for around $3000 to $4000. The only catch: they want all the proceeds to go to them as they are much in need. No decision was reached on this proposal.
Raffle:             Don Jones won the Greeter’s Gift. The Progressive was won by Colette,
but she drew a blue ball. Next week the prize will be up to $230.
